SYNCLUSIVE project

SYNCLUSIVE is an innovative, integrated, and interdisciplinary systemic approach to stimulate the inclusion of vulnerable groups in the labor market. To achieve this, the project has six main objectives:

          1) To develop and consolidate a coalition of stakeholders in 4 regional Living Labs across Europe under the Community Coalition Theory, using the ENGINE approach. This approach includes an integrated package of interventions that stimulate the mobility of vulnerable employees, thus creating vacancies for the influx of vulnerable jobseekers.

          2) Testing the usefulness and applicability of the ENGINE approach to different vulnerable groups identified as discriminated against.

          3) To identify drivers and barriers for mobility and inflow, including discrimination, against vulnerable groups.

          4) To assess the impact of the implemented ENGINE approach on labor market mobility and inclusion of vulnerable groups.

          5) To identify the transition paths from regional to national and European political levels.

          6) To identify interoperable and comparative indicators and standards relevant for the labor market inclusion of vulnerable groups, taking into account the regional, national (legislative, social security) and cultural contexts.

The commitment of regional stakeholders as well as cooperation is crucial for the success of SYNCLUSIVE and for the inclusion of vulnerable people in the labor market. Therefore, SYNCLUSIVE cooperates in an "active community coalition" between municipalities, employers, civil society, and educational institutes, which interacts with its political partners at the national and European level in 7 European countries: the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, Ireland. The results of SYNCLUSIVE will lead to sustainable inclusion of vulnerable groups in living labs in four cities, Amersfoort (Netherlands), Kokkola (Finland), Lagoa (Portugal), Sofia (Bulgaria) and have a huge potential to produce results far beyond the scope and duration of the project. At the end of the project, the partners will bring out recommendations that could contribute by stimulating the inclusion of vulnerable groups and helping to start tackling discrimination in the EU labor market.
