CALL FOR APPLICANTS
Cultural management academy Bulgaria announces a call for participation in the training program 2016-17. The program aims to increase the knowledge and skills of cultural managers of municipal and independent cultural institutions and organizations. The program will include 20 participants, of whom 5 from municipal cultural operators in Sofia, 10-12 from the independent cultural operators (non-governmental organizations) from the whole country, and up to 5 from neighboring countries like Greece, Romania and Serbia. The lecturers and trainers come from the European countries of the participating cultural institutes and from Bulgaria. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The cultural management academy is a training program. The objectives are:
a. to improve the management capacities of the participants as "cultural entrepreneurs" in a post-graduate training
b. to enhance the exchange between the communal and the independent cultural institutions and networks and their cooperation
c. to include the experience and expertise of European and Bulgarian institutional partners
d. to foster the formation and development of innovative self-reliant projects between participants, across genres and countries.
SCHEDULE OF THE TRAINING COURSES 2016:
o Course 1: April 4 - 8, 2016
o Course 2: October 10 - 14, 2016
Study Trip to Berlin: 2nd to 9th July (on invitation only)
o Course 3: December 5 – 9, 2016
Transfer projects: from beginning of 2017

CONTENT:
Impulses and lecturers, case studies, trainings including role-plays, projects to be worked on, presentations of projects by the participants.
Complementary joint programs open to public:
a. "Gradski Razgovori" talks at the Goethe-Institut Sofia on a regular monthly basis on "Urban Matters", www.goethe.de/sofia
b. Online activities throughout the training and after the end of the program:
Open lectures on YouTube channel; communication platform open to participants and teachers to share knowledge, skills and feedback
c. The "Budko-Projekt" as a platform for media, culture and art production
Post-graduate certificates in the field of cultural management from Sofia University and from Goethe-Institut and Sofia Municipality
WORKING LANGUAGE: All courses are in English.
CONDITIONS FOR APPLYING AND PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM:
To apply for the training participant must submit:
1. Cover letter (free text), which describe a small project with up to 3 project objectives to develop in your field or institution, and how do you think the project can be further developed and improved in the training program (maximum 500 words).
2. Curriculum Vitae (preferably Europass format) with a description of your institution and your position in it.
