On behalf of Sofia Municipality, Sofia Development Association organizes a public discussion of the technical assignment for the open competition "Concepts for construction and development of public urban spaces within the King’s garden."
The public discussion will focus on the assignment proposed by the Architecture and Urban Spatial Development Department at Sofia Municipality, for an international competition seeking project concepts and visions for the construction of the public urban spaces within the King's Garden in Sofia.
The organizers of the public event will welcome ideas and concrete proposals regarding the assignment, in order to ensure the participation of a wide range of professionals in the international competition.

The discussion follows upon the decisions reached unanimously in a series of discussions held in 2011 for the future of King's garden and the monument of the Soviet Army. The last of these discussions was held 29 June 2011 by the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, Sofia Poetics Association, and Association Transformers.
Participants in the discussion, which included citizens, professional organizations, architects, analysts, journalists, NGOs and municipal councilors from different political parties in the Sofia Municipal Council, agreed on developing a draft version of the technical assignment and organizing a preliminary public consultation of the document, prior to announcing the international competition.
